They will work just fine. But I believe the American FRS frequency is utilized in Australia for other services other than public usage. You may get in trouble. The frequencies are in the 462 megacycle and 468 megacycle range. Check your nation’s frequency usage.
Can I use headphones/earphones with this product?
No. There is not a jack for external headphones. As a matter of fact there are no external connectors at all.
How big are they?
The picture looks a bit distorted. The body of the unit is about 3″ and the antenna adds about 1″ more. They are pretty compact.
How long will the batteries last in standby mode?? I’m going on vacation and would like to just leave them on- probably just a few transmissions/day.
One set of batteries lasted about 12-14 hours for me on volume setting 2 with a lot of transmissions. I’d say with less than that, you’d probably be good for 24-36 hours.
